Here's a typically beautiful WWII Bronco Mfg. Co. A-2 Jacket in Russet Horsehide. Note rich, deep color not unlike common J.A. Dubow Mfg. Co. pigmentation. Heavyweight horsehides. No mottling, unequal fading of pigments. The biased pocket corners are a feature found, oddly, only on Broncos and United Sheeplineds (both companies related by family). The 532nd insignia is stunning and rare wool chenille embroidery, like classic American team patches. Note the vertical marks and backbone area "draw" on the right chest horsehide. During WWII the commercial horse industry was still huge and most animals used for combat clothing were large, old dray horses whose hides bore the marks of years of hard farm and commercial use. It is common to find hide scratches and abrasions in original jackets that couldn't be fully minimized during the leather production process.
