The classic Bib Front Cowboy Shirt,
a splendid, unique piece of Americana.
In countless Westerns and vintage shots of Western Swing and Country bands from
the 1930s-50s. The nice ones were virtually always Custom jobs for individual
performers and bands by cowboy tailors. We've always coveted this design but few
real bib front cowboy shirts have survived and the commercial ones -- polyester
or cheap cotton imports -- were never to
our taste, to say the least. Our 100% pure Rayon Gabardine has the weight, hand
and weave of the very best original shirts. For those unfamiliar with this legendary
material, Rayon is extruded, processed Cellulose, called the first synthetic but
actually a natural wood pulp-base material. Its softness and drape humble
similar cottons. Incredibly comfortable and luxurious. (Not for the washing
machine, however. This is a high-end, dressy material with tons of body yet a
matchless hand.) Note
how the LOST WORLDS Bib Front extends and lines up with
the ornate braided Rayon shoulder seam. It was never done this way or this well
even in the old custom shirts.

The more elaborate, imaginative, the better, for this is mythic, play clothing. It's
not form following function like everything else LOST WORLDS makes. These shirts
are fun. BUT, we don't think they're kitsch or corny or even over-the-top
because our materials, our pattern, our construction and our look are dead
serious and dead elegant. It's just that this shirt exists for a particular kind of
guy, one secure about himself who appreciates wit and innate quality
and identity, rather than cookie cutter conformity. If She-who-must-be-obeyed
makes a critical comment, bristling with the usual expert incomprehensibility of
the terminally frightened, get a new
