'Wow x2, at least! 1st, it was on my porch 35 hrs/39 mins after I bought it! 2nd, an unlined chrome tanned LW hippie/gangster/art deco masterpiece? Get outta here!! A mix between Empire State Building and 1995 Vinnie the Chin surveillance tape. I’ve moved from 9lb monster jackets toward lighter and this is it, but still 3oz impenetrable LW HH. I have a Bedford sz 46 canvas lined & know the fit and this is perfect! Super groovy! Big hippie smiles - Thank you, Jamaica, Queens!!'

EAST/WEST MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS (East Village NYC/San Francisco) and OSHWAHKON (Soho, NYC) were trailblazing, custom leather shops that in the late 60s-early 70s became icons of out-there, era-defining style. The inspirations for both companies were rock and roll and the Youth Generation Dishy hippie chicks making clothes for bands and boyfriends. Or Suze Rotolo sewing denim inserts into the bottom hem of Bob Dylan's skin tight jeans so they'd fit over his Beatle boots. Art, thy name is vanity and promotion. Oshwahkon and East/West raised the bar with vanguard bespoke leather creations for well-to-do 'Uptown Hippies' and musicians with record contracts!  Eye-catching. Elite. stage and celebrity wear. Trademarks of Hip. Expensive, always custom. For a Clapton, David Crosby or a Mama or Papa.
